Fr: Fraîchement diplômée de l’académie des Beaux arts de Bruxelles, en 2010, Marie Beguin fonde le projet NoMoreTwist – à la fois lieu de recherche et marque d’objets textiles. Forte d’une formation dans l’art du tissage, elle a développé une pratique expérimentale, qui l’amène, par un jeu d’essais/erreurs, à repousser tant que possible les limites de la technique. Des textures étonnantes et innovantes prennent vie sur son métier à tisser manuel informatisé. La composition des motifs jacquard est abordée sous un angle personnel mettant l’armure* au centre du processus de création.

NoMoreTwist est un atelier de recherche mis sur pied par 3 associées: Michèle Populer, Anne de Prémare et Marie Beguin. En 2020, deux de ces associées décident de se consacrer à d’autres projets. Marie Beguin reprend donc les rennes de l’atelier avec la volonté de perpétuer ce qui a été mis en place avec ses associées. La configuration « en solo » de l’atelier est enrichie par les diverses rencontres et opportunités qu’impliquent les fonctions de la designer qui est engagée en tant que chargée de projet pour le Texlab de Wallonie Design et en tant qu’enseignante au sein de 2 écoles bruxelloises (ENSAV La Cambre et ARBA Esa).

*Dans la terminologie du tissage de textile, l'armure est le mode d'entrecroisement des fils de chaîne et des fils de trame.

En: Newly graduated from the Brussels Fine art Academy, in 2010, Marie Beguin founded the NoMoreTwist project - both a place for research and a brand of textile objects. With a background in the art of weaving, she has developed an experimental practice, which leads her, a sample after an other, to push the boundaries of the technique. Amazing and innovative textures come to life on his computerized manual loom. The composition of jacquard patterns is approached from a personal angle, putting weave* at the center of the creation process.

NoMoreTwist is a research workshop set up by 3 partners: Michèle Populer, Anne de Prémare and Marie Beguin. In 2020, two of these designers decided to start other projects. Marie Beguin therefore takes over the workshop with the desire to perpetuate what has been put in place with her associates. The "solo" configuration of the workshop is enriched by the many meetings and opportunities that arise from the functions of the designer who works as a project manager for the Texlab of Wallonie Design and as a teacher in 2 brussels schools (ENSAV La Cambre and ARBA Esa).
